2017 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME ARE NOW OPEN
- A powerful, part time, completely free learning & mentoring programme for 30 emerging leaders from within Marketing, Advertising, Communications and Media
- Redesigned for 2017 the Scholarship Programme is now 9 months in duration and open for individuals with between 5 and 15 years’ experience
- Scholars receive one-to one mentoring from some of the UK’s most high profile CEO’s, CMO’s, marketing experts, agency presidents and entrepreneurs
The Marketing Academy UK has announced that nominations are now open for the 8th intake of its flagship Scholarship Programme. Since opening its doors in 2010 over 220 of the industries best emerging leaders have experienced what alumni describe as a ‘life changing’ experience.
Each year 30 of the Marketing, Advertising, Media and Communications industries best talent are selected to undertake this 9 month, part time and completely free development programme.
Sherilyn Shackell, Founder of The Marketing Academy said: ‘Our aim is simple; we want to equip marketing leaders to take their rightful place in the Board rooms of the future. We will enable them to develop the values, beliefs, behaviours and skills not only to be outstanding leaders but to help change the world we live in, ensuring the next generation of senior leaders have the knowledge and wisdom to inspire purposeful change’.
For 2017 The Marketing Academy has redefined the 4Ps of marketing creating 4 core learning modules. The new 4Ps are: Personal development – be an extraordinary human being; Professional development – be an exceptional marketer; People development – be an inspirational leader; and Purpose – be a change maker.
Scholarship places are open to all marketers with between 5 and 15 years’ experience from both brands and agencies as well as entrepreneurs and those who demonstrate remarkable ‘potential’ as natural markers. In addition to 3 residential ‘boot camps’ and 4 lectures the Scholars receive one-to one mentoring from some of the UK’s most high profile CEOs, CMOs, Agency Presidents and entrepreneurs, as well executive coaching and bespoke learning from industry leading businesses. Mentors include Keith Weed, CMO Unilever; Cilla Snowball, Group Chairman of AMV BBDO; Peter Duffy, CCO of EasyJet; Kristof Fahy CMO Ladbrokes; David Pemsel CEO Guardian Media Group
Potential Scholars first need to be nominated and senior business leaders are asked to nominate their high potential talent via www.themarketingacademy.org.uk by 20th February. Following nomination, individuals are invited to apply for the Scholarship and take part in an intense three stage selection process in order to be offered a place which begins in May 2017.

The Scholarship Programme
Now in its 7th year in the UK and 3rd in Australia The Marketing Academy Scholarship Programme is for emerging marketing & advertising talent and is sponsored in the UK by Facebook, Lloyds Banking Group, Adobe, Microsoft, ITV & Marketing Week.
The CMO Fellowship
Exclusively for CMO’s and Marketing Directors, the Fellowship Programme is sponsored by ISBA, British Airways and Adobe and has been developed in partnership with McKinsey & Company.
The UK Apprentice Programme
A 12 month fully salaried apprenticeship programme for 18 – 24 year old who are not in full time education or employment in the UK. The programme has been developed in partnership with The Princes Trust.
The Marketing Academy Inspire Events
A series of ‘open’ events designed to share The Marketing Academy learning with marketing talent across the UK. The series includes an annual conference, lectures & breakfasts and all proceeds are donated to the Apprenticeship Programme.
